Yup....other then the captain, it seems the future is devoid of male whites (human).
I'm thru the 7th episode season 1, it's definitely woke. Not anywhere near the disgustingly "in your face" wokeness like Discovery but it's still there in pretty much every character. It's very subtle but again, still there.
Otherwise, characters are good just too damn many woke ones and I'll continue watching. Shows/stories are pretty decent too. Crappy story/plots were another thing crappy with Discovery. Even if the IN YOUR FACE woke sh!t wasn't there I probably would have finished the 3rd season (rather dropping it 2-3 episodes in).
I'm OK with this Spock and actually think he's closer to Nimoy's Spock then Zach Quinto's Spock. Quinto's Spock seemed a bit naive too often(outside of Vulcan stuff).
This Uhura aint working for me. Though Saldana wasn't anything like TOS' Uhura her character worked. Oh and this one, SNW, is too woke, first and second episodes they made it (her african-ness) too big of her back story.
Also could totally do without the Ortega character, the show wouldn't be missing anything if she was never there. Then there is the double wokeness, hispanic and dyke (or triple because she takes the spot of a male bridge officer). C'mon after watching the character (to the point I'm at) you can't tell me you'll be surprised when she goes carpet munching or at the very least is in a romantic scene with another female or maybe in idle conversation brings it up.
The doctor, character is a bit dull otherwise OK....BUT really, they had to replace yet another male white with a minority?!?!?!
With this, Discovery and even Picard, I'm beginning to think male white humans are almost nonexistent in the future.Comment

Chapel and Khan's great great whatever (the security officer, last name noonian signh, ) had a convo about past lovers and Chapel or NS mentioned a female, so I guess Chapel is now bi?Yup....other then the captain, it seems the future is devoid of male whites (human).

re the Dr , that character is at least original, as in he was in some episodes of TOS, as a black maleComment

Also, in 2nd episode season 2 Chin-Riley holds hands with an old friend and slowly their hands slide apart as the friend is stepping on the transport pad.
Just watched the latest, S2 E3...Singh is suddenly in an alternate time line and because of a time travel device she is the only one who knows it's different and now Kirk is captain of the Enterprise, and no one knows who she is. Now, her and alternate Kirk go back to about present day Earth before the time line change to figure out what it is and to stop it.....but now..... WTF they're screwing with time lines again. Just a few episodes ago, in one of the last episodes of season 1 James T Kirk is CAPTAIN of the Farragut (which in TOS was mentioned as his first ship he commanded) but at the end of this episode after the time line change is thwarted and she is back in her original time line, when she phones Kirk he answers "LIEUTENANT Kirk"... again, after she came back from the past where she stopped a Romulan from altering the time line. He shoulda still been captain as he was several episodes back.Comment

iffin you have Apple TV, Foundation is actually pretty good,
not so much like the books (Isimov wrote in a 50's kinda style) but somewhat , kinda , along the same path,
new series, called Invasion,
first episode, was , well, extremely boring may be accurate,
but, since some series need a good jump start, I may give it a few episodes to startComment

I can't remember the last time my wife and I watched a show together. She watches her chick flicks and Christmas shows year round and I watch my stuff on the bedroom TV. We both record everything as to FF through all the endless commercials (that we pay for).Comment

slow but good series, and yes, a bit woke in characters
season 3 dropped this past monthComment

Dear children got us a smart TV last Christmas so we have Paramount +, HBO/Max & Peacock. For all that, I still struggle finding a movie I like. But! Tulsa King and Landman are coming back on Paramount + and I'll watch those!
I kinda miss Netflix. I'd be watching Wednesday and Squid Games II if we had it. SWComment

I'm somewhat in the same boat. I use to subscribe to all the movie channels but found out quickly there wasn't much I hadn't seen or didn't want to see. I've degenerated down to basic satellite plus a couple of extra movie channels. The main thing for me is having DVR to record and ff thru all those endless commercials.Dear children got us a smart TV last Christmas so we have Paramount +, HBO/Max & Peacock.
