    Bush is in trouble

Just went by the local whiskey store this morning. Bought the last case they had on hand of Yuengling B&T. Course this is the Arkansas Delta and Trump carried Arkansas by a wide margin in 2020. Anyhow, he said they usually get about 6 pallets of Bud Light in every week, but after April 10 they'd only sold a 30 pack. Said Coors and some of the other light beers are up @ 65%.

      Good

Coors is gloating over this but they did the same thing previously. They just didn't market it as hard so they didn't get the pushback that AB is receiving.

Hopefully, anyone who boycotts Bud Light will boycott all of AB otherwise they aren't doing much.

We have a brewery w/i 12 miles or so. They have an open bar there and sell their canned beer in the local stores. As soon as it came out I bought some because I too would rather support someone local.

Bottom line is their beer is terribly bitter, they admit it and think it is the way beer should taste. Some may like it---it's not for me though.

I am a Hop Head, as in like bitter beer, IPA's, and DIPA's are good, but they are also palate wreckers,

            but I also drink,
            Belgians
            Stouts,
            Sours
            Porters
            Heffe/Witt/Wheat ales

and a Good English Bitter when I can find one (ESB's and the like)

            and a few blends

not much on lagers, but will enjoy a cheap miller high life or similar once in a while,

In my younger days I liked to drink a beer here and there. I could down a whole pitcher of Miller Draft at the local Pizza Huts and drive home w/o any buzz I suppose because I had food on my stomach as well.

Have always liked the scuppernong taste present in Millier beers especially the draft which I don't think is avalable any longer.

My all time favorite was lowenbrau when they were owned by Miller. No two tasted quite the same. I guess they were made in small batches. Now, lowenbrau is near impossible to find here and the taste has changed to bitter.

Also liked a beer called Champale which I hear is still produced by Pabst Brewing but not found here any more.

Lowenbrau was imported from German, then when it got popular, they started brewing it here,

                and not as well

I'm not sure if it is still available locally,

I remember drinking Lowenbrau before 1975 so it was before Miller took it over in the U.S. I liked it before and after the Miller ownership then.

Small wonder I'm not a big beer drinker.

When something you like is hard to find it's easy to give it up.

I am mostly Welsh and English and like dark beer or bitters, and do not like Plonk; I reckon that puts me in the lower ranks of the British Army and most Brits. I do not like water pretending to be beer; and a man pretending to be a woman - Lord help us.

sad but true, the beer I like, (and use as my Avatar) is no longer imported to the US, and is now under a different ownership and name,

my other 2 favorites, Old Speckled Hen , is still available, but often out so stock,
and the other (Bishops Finger) stopped importing 15 yrs ago or so

Its all slowly vanishing. McEwans Export, Newcastle (used to be) Brown, Boddingtons, Theakstons Old Peculier, Dortmunder Dunkel, Even Meuse seems to have vanished.
The Trappist Blue Label High Test shows up infrequently.

Boddington is still available, had some a month or so ago,,

have not seen an Abbot ale in a long while,

my avatar, Well's Bombardier, is now called Bombardier, and owned by another company that bought Wells,

been a bit since I have seen any Fullers ESB or London Pride either, but it has also been a bit since I have been in a real beer shop,

                                Falstaff was my Grandfathers favorite.

I remember the bar (more of a gentleman's gathering place) here that the local farmers visited only sold beer and I think only sold Falstaff . At least that's all I ever saw.

It was still made when I became old enough to drink beer. I remember it having a lot of taste. Nobody made light beers back then.

I also remember Jax and Schlitz being pretty harsh tasting (green).

It looks like Pabst bought the rights to several beer companies and put their names to rest.
