I thought ours were one man operation till I saw a guy moving one day in the cab operating the robo arm. He was behind and opposite side of the driver. There's different makes and models though.

An increase in the minimum wage to help offset the COL is one thing. Doubling it overnight will not help to solve anything.
An increase in minimum wage to offset the COL is what DRIVES the COL upward! There is no such thing as a free lunch!

or maybe a company thing here,
every now and again we will see a 2 man operation on the recycle truck, (one drive, one get out and dump the buckets we uses, but often it is one guy, drive, stop, get out, dump, drive repeat,

the trash guys here are all one , driver on the right side, stops, works the arm and then drives to the next, (all from one seat)

Well so do tariffs drive the COL upward, and anti-competitive, monopoly-based profiteering, and lots of other things that you like. I'm not saying that it makes economic sense to set minimum wages at artificially high values, but to the extent that they stay fixed for many years at a crack, and there is this thing called inflation, then people working them make less every year. The overall vibe I get here is that the working poor are fair game for every loose obstacle available to throw in their path. The thing is, I've spent some time gazing at the New Testament, and somehow that isn't the message that I see there.

"The poor are fair game." What total BS the Communist/Socialist/Nazis can come up with. They have zero understanding of supply-demand economics. They think that somebody whose skill level is limited to sweeping floors, should be paid enough hourly wage to afford a home, a car, a college education for their kids, health care, food, a free cell phone and get 30 days paid vacation every year plus a progressively higher pay, year after year, for sweeping floors.

Not you are now claiming that the New Testament is telling you that every poor person in the world is incapable of making a positive decision.

Geez... You are a GOD that is writing a new, New Testament.

Red, among my takeaways from the New Testament is the idea that walking around with a heart choked by bile and rancor is a poor use of God's gift of life. YMMV.

Does the Bible say anything about poking bears with a stick? It should.

No, but it does say something about the poor being with us always.

Jesus said, "You will always have the poor among you"

And a hundred thousand poverty bureaucrats roared back, "You will if WE have anything to do with it!"
