The Border Patrol reported apprehending nearly 133,000 people last month — including many Central American families — as monthly totals have begun topping 100,000 for the first time since 2007. Federal agencies involved in immigration have reported being overwhelmed, depleting their budgets and housing large numbers of detainees in structures meant for handfuls of people.

If you use the murder measurement, Phx. is about back to 2007 levels as well. About a murder a day sometime two or three.

living in Central Va, we just don't see that kind of stuff,

immigrants, yes , got plenty, but other than the ocean, no border to fret over,,

Call me a skeptic, but I wouldn't have appropriated any money for this until we had a better understanding how much of the news stories are a result of deliberate incompetence by the administration. I suspect, quite a bit. After all, this is the Federal Government!!! And Trump seems eager to have border chaos in the news, wants it for a 2020 campaign issue, and makes no real distinction between politics and governing. As people say, we're at 2007 levels, and somehow even W's administration didn't turn it into such a circus as Team Trump has managed to do.

Before it was called illegal immigration and they were on their own to make a few bucks, now it's a humanitarian crisis that we have to take care of. Of course you know where I stand on the subject.

Down here along the Gulf Coast we have fk'ing Mexicans everywhere. None of them have a few kids. They have a herd and few if any speak English. Speaking their jive, they sound like 2-stroke engines. I see them mostly at the WalMarts but that's only because that's about the only place I go anymore.

Have I not said repeatedly that climate change is going to destabilize the lower lattitudes and cause refugee problems? Not just in the Americas but in Africa/Eurasia as well? Trump wants to make climate change worse by pushing increased coal and petroleum use, and with his big mouth he has either spooked (central Americans) or antagonized (Mexicans) people who are in a position to apply pressure on the border. And Obama was tougher on employers hiring illegals than Trump is. People like the reactionary rhetoric that Trump spouts, and so they give him a pass on the horsesh*t job he's actually doing down there. We need someone who actually wants to fix things, not use the problem as a means of getting re-elected. Sorry but it's true.

You mean he's responsible for keeping the camera crews of CNN & the other networks permanently on duty along the border to record the terrible misfortunes being inflicted by the heartless Border Patrol on the poor "asylum-seekers" & their brats? It was at HIS urging that Bernie & every other Dem candidate have made visits to the border to demand "justice" for the invaders?

Well, we know dumping billions and billions of dollars for decades into huge global "coffee drinking meetings" haven't cured anything but the liberals worldwide sure do appreciate the support for their "cause" that they made up. When it was proven that the earth is going through a normal cycle they had to change the name from global warming. Call it climate change, the 4 seasons, El Nino, El Chappo, El Crappo, nightfall, rainy season or whatever the name for the week is.

however, how is that any different than any other President in the past,, and why do you presume that Team Trump has made it worse?

and yet when interviewed, the families on the MSM shows say they are escaping gangs and crime to come to the US,,,,

guessing a hot summer turns most into gang members or organized crime in central america?


and wondering if the Africans, and those from Central America, invested the money they spent to get here illegally back into their own economy if maybe they as a collective, could make things better?
