Have you ever noticed that the police in Mexico and Central America wear masks to hide their identity? If they are recognized, they risk kidnapping, murder, and arson retaliation from the mass of lawless individuals. There is a large group of people in Mexico who are exempt from the law. Many of them are government officials. If we allow this influx of people from south of the border, we are inviting this same behavior in the United States. The dems are all for it, because it creates chaos and fear among the population. Those who value freedom, self determination, private property, and safety of their persons need to stop this dem swindle before we hand the control of our country over to them. They don't mind using murder, intimidation, starvation, kidnapping, and arson to retain control of the population. Look at history. Regards, Clark

Given what we've seen of the Feds lately, they're probably HELPING the illegals and covering up for the corrupt politicians.

That's Portland Maine, not Oregon which is pretty nutty too. Lesson; don't move to any Portland.

If I lived in a state where the governor gave a speech like that, I'd move immediately.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Like old men saying "no birth control or abortions for you gals" you mean?

Seriously: legislatures make rules for other people to follow, since most people aren't in the legislature. We hope to elect people who will do a halfway decent job of it. Trouble is, other voices catch their ears--the people with a lot of money riding one way or the other on each an every rule.

                  interesting read,

RealClimate: Never let it be said that we at RealClimate don't work for our readers. Since a commenter mentioned the medieval vineyards in England, I've been engaged on a quixotic quest to discover the truth about the oft-cited, but seldom thought through, claim that the existence of said vineyards a thousand years ago implies that a

                  and in the comments,

apparently, numbers have to be extrapolated, not written,

Grape ripening as a past climate indicator
                  Nature, Vol. 432, 18 November 2004.

French records of grape-harvest dates in Burgundy were used to reconstruct spring-summer temperatures from 1370 to 2003 using a process-based phenology model developed for the Pinot Noir grape. Our results reveal that temperatures as high as those reached in the 1990s have occurred several times in Burgundy since 1370. However, the summer of 2003 appears to have been extraordinary, with temperatures that were probably higher than in any other year since 1370.
comments are a good read as well,

I still think that is short term thinking, kinda like looking at yesterday to predict next month,

a part of it maybe, but just a very small part of the picture, or rather looking at one small shrubbery when you need to look at the entire forest

Well the entire forest is showing signs. Polar regions heating the fastest. Parts of India becoming nearly uninhabitable in the June heat waves before monsoon season. Everywhere we look something is going on. So it puts the Doubter-In-Chief yet again in a bad light if you ask me. I mean he could say that we have to find a balance between mitigation and economic impacts, but no, he just says "I don't believe, and let's burn more coal and petroleum".

The Earth is 4.54 BILLION years old (plus or minus 0.05 billion.) If you want to show me a temperature chart, show me one that goes back more than a a few HUNDRED years.

One thing that such a chart will show is that climate change is natural.

The dummies can't tell what sex they belong to, how in the heck can they tell anyone about "climate" change. It is about money and power, take the carbon tax...still a tax. More money to buy votes for those not inclined to work. The NEA sure did a good job of dumbing down America, "our" three are prime examples of the stupidity and low testicular fortitude.
