    C) Donald J Trump. Remember, AIDS was his "Vietnam". Served multiple tours apparently. No purple heart though.

      C. bill clinton---avoided the draft

      C. barrack obama---didn't serve---perhaps he was ineligible to serve in the U.S.

You really need to find you a job (a real job) and get off of the taxpayers dime and wasting our time here.

Your rule was silly but you don't seem to want to acknowledge that.

Whatever the positive benefits of royally pissing off the Iranians (to be determined), it has subtracted from one of the campaign pledges: defeat ISIS. They're still there and now job #1 for our forces in the region is self-protection. Also, the people around Trump are now starting to sound a bit like the people around Bush. Beating our resident history teacher to the punch with this: "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Equally true for government official and private citizen alike, wouldn't you say?

The biggest choice would have been Uncle Ho and his fellow travelers to choose not trying to force unification through the force of arms.

I support the killing of those who wish to harm my family period. I've been listening to Death to America since I was a young officer. Now I'm 62 and I've grown tired of the chant. As we used to say before the world of political correctness "xxxx or Get Off the Pot" Iran. Try chanting "don't worry be happy" lets just move on.

The proper choice would have been to cross the Ben Hai River in force and drive the North Viet Namese forces north. They would have had no choice but to fight. Then land two Marine Divisions plus other forces behind them and crush them in a hammer-and-anvil maneuver. Follow that up by going through North Viet Nam like Sherman went through Georgia -- only not so gently.

Perhaps if JFK had been assassinated sooner there would have never been a Vietnam war, at least with America's involvement .

Any scenario that left Lyndon Johnson as President would have been a disaster.

Every once in awhile you post something that suggests you weren't born and raised in the USA. This is another one of those times.

Vernon also knows that fears of PRC intervention (think December 1950, Korea) kept an invasion of the north off the table. He might as well argue that we should have used Star Wars Blasters or any other fantasy option.

Unlike you who NEVER post anything that suggest you are a citizen, not an enemy of America and this forum. Anybody can look things up.

Maybe I should switch to a different user name and tell myself how great I am?

If that's what you need to make it through the day, go ahead. It's a free country, well here anyway.
