look into the zoning, and legal stuff as to how a hospital is planned and built,
not zoning like so many doors, beds etc, but regional,
had a discussion with someone last night that is knowledgeable on the subject, and he told me some things that were enlightening,
cannot remember the exact phrase he used, but basically when a permit or plan for a hospital is requested , there has to be a need or use based on population and density (as in how many people, and how many hospitals in said region)
if the criteria is met, then a new one will be built,
here locally, we have a pile of little emergency centers popping up, but most seem to be 10 bed. and temporary beds at that, capacity
I pass by 3 on my 29 mile ride into work each day (that I know off) and have at least 2 big hospitals off the highway a few miles,
point is, the number and placement of hospitals is apparently regulated, and between the parameters used to decide how big and where to build, as well as the tax structures and who knows what else buried in ACA/obamacare, there is a reason we have what we have,
and the guy in the oval office has little to do with itComment

Imagine if lawyers had to get a certificate of need before opening a law firm!Comment
