Ray there's no "there" there on the Biden Keystone truck thing. It's on a par with saying someone wants to return to the moon to corner the market on Green Cheese.

Regardless of what is/isn't paid is mute at this point. Companies that pay the ransom are just setting up all of US for the next time and there will be a next time. 5/m is chump change to say 20-40/m next time. Instead of gas it could be the electrical grid and then what? Perfect time to hit would be in the middle of summer and then hear people scream!
"Millions for defense, not one penny for tribute!" is not in the current American psyche. Increased cost of everything, shortages, drought, illegals being welcomed in and not to mention the pandemic America is in for a time no one wants to see. Best of all America has a current administration that is well equipped to handle any emergency that is handed to us.

Well turns out that the pipeline....PAID almost 5 million dollars to the Russian hackers. Wonder if it comes from a Biden loan or gift for infrastructure.

Just came back from town, gas is now $3.05 up .17 since this morning. Was $1.89 last fall and at this rate will be over $4.00 by fall! Yes, slo joe has accomplished much to help stop green house gases from cars.

By the logic that Biden is responsible for oil prices, that means Bakken shale drillers being back on the job have him to thank, right?

People who are pro-petroleum production should celebrate a profitable industry.

                          ^^^Did anyone take note?^^^

Colonial said they would NOT pay a ransom after they already had!

Love Biden or hate him matters not, Colonial paid the ransom a week ago. They've been toying with the decryption code while the spin doctors play with smoke and mirrors.

I think that you folks are spoiled. Here in Ottawa (Canada), gas is currently selling for $1.29 CDN per litre. That translates to $4.06 (US) per US gallon

This incident does however demonstrate just how vulnerable our Western society is to computer disruptions. I mentioned a few months ago that I had written a novel on the subject and published it on Amazon ("An Oral History of the Pulse") and I can tell you that the more that I researched the subject the more frightened that I got. About 10 years ago the US Government did a study on the subject and concluded that if the North Koreans set off two nuclear bombs at an altitude of 400 miles, one over Western NY and another in the US South West, the entire North American electical grid would fail and be off line for at least a couple of years.

This really should be a wake-up call

My first read on EMP was in the Reader's Digest in the 1970s. Since then semiconductor feature sizes and breakdown voltages have only decreased.

EMP would knock many things out, including the country that fired the missiles.
