What changes would you like to see , regarding CSP?

nothing is set in stone yet, but there may be some changes soon to the site and or how it is run,

nothing , and I mean absolutely nothing , will be done to anything posted about or by the Maj, that is off the table,

however there may be other opportunities, if things work out,

    so,

    what say you??

FWIW, I have reached out to someone that may be able to help with the spam bots, not sure yet,

    all ideas considered

OK, I'll start. A lot of consolidation needs to be done. A lot of the forums get no attention at all anymore and need to be consolidated or eliminated all together. I made the last post on Soviet/Russian firearms in Feb 2021. I would exclude forums on US Martial Arms, i.e. M1903 or M1 Garands from that but a lot of other stuff could be combined or ditched. We just don't have the active membership, gun wise, to support half of what we've got.

The SPAM bots are a massive problem and I hope you can get that fixed for sure.

I hate the way this site has gone down.

I have a friend that is admin on another site, they managed to change the registration system in a very minor way that the bots cannot tell,

so they have had 0 spam issues,

I am hoping to get in touch with his forum IT guy (another member of that forum) and see if we can do it here,

Art, been thinking along those lines as well,

        things will proceed, but slowly,

If money is a problem, lay it out. There are members here that would contribute in order to keep the CSP up and running.

IIRC the bills are paid , so no worries there,

if cash is needed, the a call will go out, but that is not the issue at hand,

I'll let this run a week for more input then update here,

I STRONGLY suggest the punctuation problem here be corrected!!
I’m tired of seeing my posts mutulated by this “system” . . . .my quotation marks CHANGED to query marks, for example, among other marks!

Since the punctuation problem doesn't affect everyone I must assume it is within your/their computers, perhaps who they use for a browser or settings? Not suggesting it doesn't need to be looked into because why is it only happening here?

I probably have the most screwed up computer on this forum and don't have this problem (yet). I still use windows 7 (have a 10 but don't like it). Every day I have to fight to read my emails and log-in's to certain sites while others aren't affected at all.

Microsoft has claimed for a long time that they no longer support windows 7 but yet still issue constant updates. Sounds to me they are still trying to take control.

Google (on my computer) has taken over and practically destroyed everything. Sites I use to watch are now non-existent. Foxfire has helped a little but not much.

Anyway, I have all these computer glitches and still don't have the punctuation problems that some of you have.

I don't think the punctuation problem can be addressed,

I don't have issues on my laptops, or phone
but the day job computers struggle with this site, which is why you see that I have apparently double posted in the same thread,

I can't do software fixes, but will likely be able to re arrange things a bit

still learning what the buttons do in the admin section, and will chat with Pat sometime next week for a tutorial and idea exchanges, ,

I also have a friend that has directed me to someone that my be able to help with the new post scammers/bots (may have mentioned that already)

I have the same issue on Al Frasca?s ?trapdoor? website . . . .some punctuation marks and other symbols are verboten! (Am I right? . . .this is the 21st century?)

Perhaps the cause is Microsoft trying to force you to install one of their daily "upgrades" that sometimes leads to extra spyware and spam. That's the main reason I don't use my windows 10. They install all the updates and changes they wish w/o the owners consent and no way to block them.

If we could get rid of the CNN, PMSNBC, NPR and PBS representatives I think we might have a chance of having our own network channel.

                              just to be clear,

no member will be banned if they have a differing opinion,
think about it this way, you may like Ford, another may like Chevy, and I like Toyota, so there will be differing opinions,

however the rude bully name calling types will be infracted to the point of being banned,

in other words, if you think Chevy is the end all be all and proceed to verbally beat down any other vehicle owner over and over, then you will no longer post here

                              sound fair?

and think about it this way, it will be your house, we can set up rules etc , as far as behavior and vote on it, via a poll, thread etc, or pm, whatever to set the limits (as in rules)

mob rule?? no, majority rule?? yes,
