Spot-on Vern, I knew a man, a good, solid man, who was elected to a lower level position in another state. After his re-election, quite a few folks were trying to get him to consider running for Congress, senator actually. After visiting some folks in his state's capitol and in DC also, he bowed out. After his third term he left politics completely. He said he would have to make too many un-clean compromises to be a so-called success. That is how it is, and I respect the guy.
At the upper levels particularly, there are no clean hands.

Which explains exactly why we need term limits.

Lord Action said, "Power tends to corrupt. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

And I say, "Therefore power should be strictly rationed and no man allowed to have more than a few years of ot."

Term limits and if they become a little too rich while in office,
they should be investigated and prosecuted if guilty.

There should be a limit on how much a politician's personal wealth can increase while in office -- any gains in excess of that should go to the Treasury.

Absolutely agree; however, there is much too much money made and, "Money talks." It always has, and always will.

Sooner or later we will develop life extension technology -- and we better have term limits before then. Imagine people spending a hundred years or more in office, growing more and more arrogant each year.

Her excuse was she had too much wine at lunch. That's French for "passed out drunk."

How many people have employment where they can drink on the job? Our tax dollars at work.

How many people have jobs where they can pass out in full public view and keep their jobs?
